Honolulu Adopt-AStream Program – A way for residents to help improve the quality of streams and be Everyday Clean Water Heroes as many property owners upstream may not realize that what they do on their land impacts other residents and water quality downstream. Adopters are responsible for a designated stretch of stream or street under the City’s jurisdiction.
Honolulu Adopt-A-Park Program – You can contribute in a number of ways; one of the easiest ways is to pick-up litter at a City park when you have free time. There are plenty of other possibilities for volunteer opportunities, including: raking leaves, painting buildings/benches/other park amenities, or removing graffiti. If you are committed to regular improvement efforts at a specific location then we recommend pursuing an Adopt-A-Park Agreement.
Mālama Puʻuloa Adopt-a-Plot – Participants can choose the site and size of their plot at Kapapapuhi Point Park and the times of their visits! Once adopted, we ask that you visit at least once a year to remove opala and invasive plants from your site…and hopefully help us grow and plant native species. Our staff will set up times to meet your group and support your efforts.

Mālama Maunalua Adopt-a-Plot – Help restore the marine environment by removing invasive algae from the nearshore waters.

State of Hawaiʻi Adopt-A-Highway Program – Keeping trash off our highways is one of the most critical ways to ensure our storm drains are free of pollutants and debris. HDOT Highways can provide all safety materials, trash bags, and will schedule trash pick-ups for your highway location. HDOT Highways will even erect highway signs to recognize your group’s cleaning efforts!
